Designing the overall aesthetics of the VEX AIM Coding Robot required a careful balance of function and form. I began by studying the proportions and mechanical layout of the robot, ensuring that the visual language would complement its technical capabilities. Early sketches and foam models allowed me to explore surface treatments, silhouette, and the integration of recognizable design cues that conveyed precision and innovation. Through iterative refinement, I established a cohesive aesthetic that emphasized durability while maintaining a sleek, approachable character. Once the design direction was solidified, I collaborated with engineering to translate these concepts into production-ready CAD, incorporating subtle details inspired by industrial and automotive design to elevate the final product.
