This project required me to update the micro robotic toy that started it all. This mechanical toy had simple electrical switches as antennae. It would march in a straight line until the antennae encountered an obstacle which would trigger a three-point turn and start it off in a new direction. The consumer could also activate this feature through a built-in sound sensor by clapping. With the design language of the Hexbug Scorpion and Scarab so successful, I created a more aggressive body shape and surface, introducing electroplated plastic to the translucent look.
