Creating the VEX One Stick Controller required a design approach that emphasized simplicity, ergonomics, and clarity of use. I began by analyzing how users naturally interact with single-handed control devices, referencing human factors research to ensure comfort across a wide range of hand sizes. Early prototypes in foam and clay allowed me to refine the proportions, grip contours, and button placement, ensuring both intuitive operation and a visually balanced form. Once the core geometry was established, I worked closely with engineering to translate the design into production-ready CAD, integrating subtle industrial design details that reinforced durability while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic. The final result is a controller that communicates precision and accessibility through its streamlined design language.
